Moultrie County Habitat for Humanity
Home

Moultrie County Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, ecumenical, Christian housing ministry based in Sullivan, Illinois, and has served all of Moultrie County, including the towns of Arthur, Bethany, Lovington, and Sullivan since March 1998.

We raise our own funds to pay for the purchase of land, construction of the house and our overhead costs. We only borrow funds (if required) for the purchase of vacant land parcels and development of infrastructure (roads, drainage, water & sanitary lines, electric & gas). This year we are beginning to build our first Habitat subdivision in the city of Sullivan for 20 future Habitat houses.

Our mission is to help build lives and build homes for those partner families in need of a modest, affordable house. We have built 13 Habitat houses to date including four in Arthur, one in Bethany, four in Lovington and four in Sullivan.

Construction on new homes begins in June 2011 and continues through November in our Habitat Village. Whether you know little or a lot about anything home related, we welcome your help. Please contact the office (217.728.7386) if you are interested in helping us plan, build, landscape, paint, stain, or provide food for the volunteers.
